Ciaran Hinds' Wife

Because of his recent appearance in the Harry Potter movies, many people are familiar with actor Ciaran Hinds, but few people in America know about Ciaran Hinds' wife, Helene Patarot.

While she is not as well known as her husband, Helene Patarot is an actress in her own right. Because most of her roles are in non-American movies, many people in the US do not know her name. She is French-Vietnamese and has starred in French language movies, such as award-wining Paris, Je T'aime. She has worked both on feature length films and several popular television shows, such as Harry Hill. She has also starred in several made-for-TV movies. Her newest feature film, whose English-language title is You Don't Choose Your Family, released in Belgium in November 2011. Helene and Ciaran have a daughter, Aoife Hinds, who was born in 1991. Interestingly, the couple is not officially married. They are long-time partners who have enjoyed a steady relationship and have lived together, since 1987. They met while on the set of Peter Brook's production of The Mahabharata, a version of a popular Indian tale. The couple is friends with Liam Neeson and Ciaran served as a pallbearer in Neeson's wife's funeral.

Helene Patarot, while not technically Ciaran Hinds' wife, is considered his wife because they have lived together since 1987. The French-Vietnamese actress is well-known for her French language movies, but, dissimilar to her husband, has yet to gain prominence in American film.
